All of my friends are impressed by these subs, (I have 2 of the 12’s in a custom box). They are obviously just meant to add a little bump to your ride, and provide a good clean bass, but with a little amplification, and a sweet custom box, these inexpensive, and well made little 12’s rattle my entire car to the bone. (I’ve had to tighten the screws in my doors and on my plates!!) The best thing is, even when they are amped up fairly high, the bass is FOR THE MOST PART, really clean sounding. (this depends on your amplifier tuning and etc.) If you can install these puppies with clean, professional wiring connections, a decent amp, and a box that will really amp your sound, these things will surpass any expectations anyone could have. I know I’m going to stick with these subs for a good while before I upgrade.

I’m glad I made this purchase because I am able to just fill in my systems lacking bass or turn it up and rattle my rear view. This subwoofer is small but packs a lot of punch. The biggest thing to look at when buying an subwoofer is the RMS this subwoofer says it can handle 600 watt rms so I paried it with a 500w rms amp to deliver the best sound. Looking for the best component subwoofer check this out.
Pioneer are known for there radios but they should get more credit in the subwoofer department because they hit hard.
3. Pioneer TS-SW2502S4 Shallow Style
The line of shallow subwoofers are designed to provide wider installation options for a broad range of vehicles. These shallow-mount subwoofers feature multiple patent-pending features to deliver the big bass performance of a full-size subwoofer, but in a compact design that can be installed either behind or under seats depending on the type of vehicle. The mounting depth is just 3-1/8″ – less than half a typical subwoofer in this class.
This 10″ shallow subwoofer handles 1,200 watts max., 300 watts nominal power, and delivers deep bass with top-notch sound quality thanks to features like Pioneer’s MICA injection-molded resin which gives it the ability to produce accurate bass.
Designed to perform in small enclosures or spaces that traditional subwoofers can’t fit, like behind the backseat of pick-ups, the TS-SW2502S4 can produce a lot of bass without having to sacrifice space in a trunk or truck cab.

When I ordered this sub I didn’t expect much out of 10″ subwoofer, especially one that had such a small mounting depth. I received the sub quickly and began building a box. My box dimensions are 31″ wide, 14″ tall, 6″ deep at the bottom, and 3″ deep at the top. I used some 3/4″ MDF board I had laying in the shop. When the sub is mounted on the 3/4″ MDF, it only sticks into the box 2-1/4″. I paired this sub with the “BOSS AUDIO R1100M Riot 1100” Amp, and the “Boss Audio KIT2 8 Gauge Amplifier Installation Kit” I probably have something like 170.00 USD tied up in all of it counting the MDF wood. The Subwoofer itself performs brilliantly. It sounds crisp and clean. The amp provides plenty of power to drive the sub, but it could easily take a tad more wattage without damage. This sub isn’t going to turn heads, but it sounds good. It is louder than I thought it would be. To give reference of how loud it is: I stopped at a gas station this morning and left my system bumping outside at medium/high-ish volume. I heard it inside the store fairly well, but it wasn’t annoyingly loud to anyone around. Regular 10″ speaker grills will NOT fit over this sub (trust me i bought one and it failed) and I used 18 AWG speaker wire from the amp to the sub with no issue. I can’t really think of anything else to add. If you need a subwoofer for a single cab truck or a small space… This is the one.

4. Pioneer TS-SWX3002 Pre-loaded Enclosure
The shallow-mount subwoofer that comes preloaded in the TS-SWX3002 utilizes an oversized cone structure that provides greater cone and gasket surface without changing its standard external dimension. This cone surface allows the subwoofer to produce louder deeper bass by moving more air. It is made of highly rigid cone made of MICA injection-molded resin which creates a rigid and durable cone, giving it the ability to produce accurate bass. The subwoofer includes a dual spider to provide more cone motion control for optimized stiffness stabilizing the excursion of the cone and support the subwoofer’s linear movement for accurate bass response.

This is so small compared to my old cube box with 15″ subs. I was tired of not being able to use my trunk in my car. My old sub was amazing but took up almost the entire trunk. So I decided to downsize and the Pioneer 12″ shallow-mount sub seemed to get good reviews so I bought it. It was packaged well and once I pulled it out of the box I was a bit shocked at the size. I knew it would be small but having it in hand gave me a reality check. I installed it in my trunk and I have to say, WOW this thing allows almost the entire trunk to be used.

Don’t waste your money buying overly expensive subwoofers when you can get all the bass and performance that any non-audiophile could possibly need. I have ONE of these in an enclosure in a 3 series BMW and the sound is incredible. I really can’t imagine a higher priced woofer sounding much better or producing more bass – if any at all. I’ve been a lifelong pioneer products user and they haven’t disappointed me even once. This woofer is highly recommended from a very critical user.
